So last week we posted Part 1 of our Guide to the Ultimate Winter Wedding and it has already proved very popular. So we’re sure you’ll be pleased to hear we’re back with Part 2! So last week we covered the wider wedding details such as the cake, decor and flowers. This week, we’re looking in more detail at your bridal look and your bridesmaids style. First up we have…

Bridal Makeup for a Winter Wedding

We are torn between embracing the sparkle of the season and taking the opportunity to dive in to the rich, deep tones this season lends itself to. If you’re usually someone who keeps their make up simple, then flawless skin and just a little sprinkle of sparkle is a really elegant and fresh take on winter bridal. However, if you’re more bold with your make up, the darker hours of winter allow for rich purples and browns on the eyes – you can always add some glitter too! And if you’re a bride who really wants to make a statement, there’s no better time for a bold, red lip than winter. We love brides matching their lip to statement nails and shoes too!

Winter Wedding Dress

We love an elegant  A-line, ballgown for a winter wedding. They make the perfect statement paired with winter make up and perhaps a fur cover up, should you need it. We love Stella York’s super elegant 6758 – new for 2019! Style number 6581 is the perfect modern ball gown to amp up with your own accessories or a statement red lip. Stella’s 6701 is also a beautiful ballgown, with a romantic bow-tied sash. And for the ultimate ice queen, we love Doe by Rosa Clara – a huge, cascading tulle train paired with a bejewelled bodice fit for a princess. If fitted is more your style, why not look into Stella York’s 6846 or 6817? The open backs give just a little hint of sexy whilst the beautiful lace sleeves give you an elegant, winter look.

Winter Bridesmaids

‘tis the season for sparkles! And Sorella Vita has you covered! We’ve had bridesmaids dazzle in all sequin colours and it’s hard to choose our favourite. Classic winter colours of sapphire and crimson are flattering on all skin tones and work so well with winter colour palettes. These also pair well with chiffon gowns if you want your girls in different styles. Onyx may be a surprising choice for weddings, but against pale decor, your bridesmaids will really dazzle in their black sequin gowns. If you’re not into sequins, then mulberry, navy and burgundy all make beautiful bridesmaid colours for winter. If you’re having a mostly pale decor with nods to the festive season, why not have your girls in the new Sorella Vita shade, forest? The rich, deep greens will look beautiful against icy decorations and green is set to be the colour of choice for 2019.

Bridal Hair for a Winter Wedding

With no practical need for hair to be swept off the face due to heat, it’s a lovely time for hair to be wild and free (whilst still styled and gorgeous of course!) We love the use of natural berries in the hair or beautiful leafy headpieces like this one from Ivory & Co. The dark tones of winter colours lend themselves well to metallic accents and Ivory & Co offer a range of metals to match your theme perfectly. We love Gypsy Rose for a rose gold hint and Anoushka with its silver and pearl accents.
