With the new year fast approaching, and the promise of lots of romantic festive proposals on the cards! We wanted to put together a post highlighting the key trends for wedding dresses in 2018.

Cutouts

A popular bridal trend which has carried over from last season is the cutout feature. Stella York have featured sheer side cutouts beautifully in their newest collection, including some lovely fresh and playful ways. With exposed boning, layered laces and corset details – these wedding dresses offer a sheerness that feels both romantic and couture.

Stunning Sleeves

Sleeves are a huge trend for 2018. And the beauty is that the trend is so versatile that you can incorporate them so easily into your own personal bridal style. The catwalk has seen some incredibly dramatic sleeves, however long and lacy, off the shoulder or delicately beaded cap sleeves can be much easier to wear.

Micro Straps

For brides who don’t necessarily want a sleeve but welcome the security of a strap, this could be the trend for you! Functional and fashionable, these micro straps can add an additional dimension to your wedding gown. Delicate shoestrings that crisscross in the back add a boho feel. Whereas dramatic beaded bands add a fabulous touch of glamour.

V-Necklines

Décolletage flattering v-necklines are huge for 2018. Directly inspired by how prevelant they were on the red carpet this year. This particular neckline is universally flattering. A v-neckline will elongate a bride’s silhouette, creating a beautiful feminine line. Larger busted ladies needn’t be put off either. V-necklines can make shoulders appear narrower, slimming the top half and paired with a fit and flare finish or soft A-line will result in a fashion forward flattering gown.
